PROJECT STATEMENT
This project is a daily artistic practice focused on creating fish using various mediums and techniques. Each session, limited to 20 minutes, will explore different breeds and creative approaches to capture the diversity and beauty of aquatic life.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The idea behind “ Fish n shit” is to explore the vast diversity of fish species while experimenting with different artistic methods. Each day, I will dedicate 20 minutes to creating a fish, using various materials like watercolor, ink, digital illustration, collage or pencil. The project investigates the relationship between time constraints and creative expression, pushing the boundaries of quick, intuitive art-making. I aim to capture the unique forms, colors, and textures found in different fish breeds, from the delicate fins of a betta to the bold patterns of a clownfish.
PROJECT RATIONALE
This project is valuable as both a personal artistic challenge and a study in biodiversity. For me, it’s an opportunity to refine my skills across different mediums while learning about aquatic life. On a broader scale, “ Fish n shit” highlights the beauty of marine species, fostering appreciation for nature through art and a dash of weirdness and oddities. The quick, daily format also demonstrates how meaningful work can be produced in small, consistent timeframes, inspiring others to adopt manageable creative practices.
PROJECT PLAN
I plan to do this project by setting aside 20 minutes each day for focused creation. I’m familiar with various artistic techniques but will explore new methods throughout the project. Materials will include sketchbooks, paints, digital tools, and recycled materials for mixed-media pieces. I’ll work primarily in my dorm and document the process in my sketchbook and sometimes brief notes.

I turn my 4 favorite into working puppets. In order to do this I printed out each one with an inverted double in order to create a uniformed image which would fit together. As I glued them together I slid in sticks between the two pieces of paper. Once they had dried I folded them as to increase their movement.
