We are currently in the process of designing a book cover for an upcoming event called the Edible Book Fest. This unique event centers around using food items to creatively form the book title or book themed food. As part of our initial design trials, I experimented with a variety of materials, including dried noodles, spices, pills, and sauces. These trials took place over the course of a few days, allowing us to explore different textures, colors, and arrangements to see what worked best visually and conceptually.

Here are the modifications I made to my favorite characters in Photoshop. I adjusted their colors, cleaned up some edges, and refined details to better suit the overall design and make them stand out more vividly. These edits helped enhance their visual impact and ensure they matched the tone of the project.

Below is my final design. I refined many of my previous edits to create a more dynamic and engaging title. After finalizing the text, I used the duplication feature to enhance the word “doubly,” giving it a visually striking effect. To complement the title, I hand-drew fine-line mountains and a sun beneath it, adding a subtle yet artistic touch. The QR code links directly to my website, while the barcode is a generic placeholder I found online.
While I wasn’t able to attend the event myself due to a scheduling conflict with another class, I heard it was fantastic. There were plenty of creative, book-themed foods and cakes on display, and I was able to collect a lot of great photos afterward. I was also excited to learn that the library chose to keep our edible book project for a post-event display, which was a nice surprise and a great way to share our work with a wider audience.
